According to the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario, a physiotherapist is a professional who studies the science of movement. Physiotherapy is a treatment that restores and maintains a patient’s mobility and consequently their well-being. It’s a medical practice that aids physical rehabilitation, helps people improve their health and fitness and most importantly, allows for injury prevention.

What Are The Benefits Of Physiotherapy?

Here are some benefits of physiotherapy that’ll help you understand the significance of the practice.

It Reduces Pain

Whether you’re suffering from a dull ache or excruciating pain, both of these conditions can prevent you from functioning well in your daily life. No matter what the cause of the pain is, physiotherapy can help you mitigate the discomfort and get you back on track. In a way, it also helps your kidneys as it keeps you away from painkillers.

It Prevents Injury

In case of an injury a physiotherapist shows you how to move your body to avoid putting stress on the affected part. They’ll also work with you on your flexibility and strength to help you prevent injuries from occurring in the future.

What Conditions Can Be Helped With Physiotherapy?

Besides different sorts of injuries, such as from sports or vehicle accidents, physiotherapists can help you with a number of other conditions. Here are some of them.

Osteoporosis is a condition in which the bones become extremely weak; there’s a high risk of fractures and other severe injuries. Physiotherapists teach patients the correct exercises that can help them prevent fractures and reach daily activity goals.

Patients with arthritis experience joint and muscle pain that can hinder them from engaging in daily physicals tasks. Physiotherapy can provide relief to these patients and help them get back to an independent life by teaching them how to protect their joints and manage their condition.

Back and Neck Pain

Back and neck pain is often caused by problems of the spinal cord. Physiotherapists employ a number of techniques, including manual therapy, motion exercises, joint manipulation and thermal modalities among others, to help patients get rid of the extreme discomfort.

At Divergent Innovative Health Care, we have a team of physiotherapists who provide excellent physical therapy to patients suffering from pain or injury.

I thought I was going to have to deal with plantar fasciitis for the rest of my life. I had done all the recommended steps from orthotics, icing, stretching, massage…nothing worked. I saw Jason. He said 5 treatments with shockwave therapy should significantly improve the problem. I said no way. In a way, I was right-it took 6 treatments but I’m pain free. Amazing. Great service and a product that works.
Thank you to Dr. Nanda and his great team of specialist for taking care me. Very friendly and knowledgable!
Here is what I say about my shock treatments. I have had chronic back pain for over 40 years. Nothing has worked for me and I have tried many, many types of back treatments. Nothing worked. I was going to go for laser spine surgery. Divergent was going to be my last “try” before laser surgery. I went in with absolutely NO expectations. I had one treatment, walked out thinking “okay, my back doesn’t hurt but that won’t last.” Well guess what? It works!!!! I have had 5 treatments since May, 2017 and I have no back pain. None! Without Divergent and Dr. Jason, my life would still be a painful one. Jason, you have saved me. Anyone with any pain needs to go to Divergent. With many thanks to all of you.
I have been suffering with Plantar Fasciitis in both of my feet for over a year now and the pain was just too unbearable to deal with. I did all the recommended stretching, icing and other treatments that just didn’t help. So, I said enough is enough as I deserve to feel better than this and made the appointment at Divergent Health Care.
